The Grand Prix

This is chosen as the ‘Best in Show’ at the end of the judging process, by all of the judges, from all of the award winning entries from each of the individual categories listed below. This is a non-entered category but all entries will automatically be considered.

The criteria for picking the winner will be driven by the ‘Big idea, beautifully crafted’ principle underpinning all of the judging process but we will be looking for genuinely innovative approaches which surprise and delight… and deliver against the brief…. irrespective of the size of the budget.

The Chairman and Head Judge's Award

This is chosen as the favourite of the Chair and Head Judge. It is likely that this will be one prize but it may be two... This is a non-entered category but all entries will automatically be considered.

The criteria for picking the winner will be driven by the ‘Big idea, beautifully crafted’ principle underpinning all of the judging process but we will be looking for genuinely innovative approaches which surprise and delight… and deliver against the brief…. irrespective of the size of the budget.

Brand Identity Design

The best brand identity design, digital or graphic. Awards will be given for those brand identities where the overall fee was less than £100,000 and where it was over this amount.

Packaging Design: Graphic

For the best graphic design for packaging.

Entries will also be considered for an award for the best overall packaging design, taking all elements into consideration along with entries into the Packaging Design: 3D category.

Packaging Design: 3D

New for 2018! For the best physical/3D design for packaging.

Entries will also be considered for an award for the best overall packaging design, taking all elements into consideration along with entries into the Packaging Design: Graphic category.

Editorial Design

Outstanding execution of editorial design, whether in print or digital.

Retail/Pop-up Retail Design

The best use of external/interior design in retail. One award will be given for permanent retail experiences, one for more transient experiences.

Experiential Design

Outstanding design in restaurants, exhibition spaces etc and experiential set-ups.

Art Direction

Outstanding designed and implemented art direction.

Typography

The best use of typography regardless of medium.

Photography

The best, most innovative use of photography.

Illustration

The best, most innovative use of illustration.

Brand Campaign

The best brand campaign design of the year. It’s important that we see 5-7 examples of how this is communicated.

Self-Promotion Design

The best design for self-promotion purposes. This should be entered directly by in-house teams or by agencies for their own promotional work.
