Since BBC 2’s last rebrand (1997), the channel increasingly struggles to differentiate from its many competitors. BBC Two creates the broadest range of original and stimulating programming – TV that always gets a reaction. We developed an identity that reflects the full range of emotions evoked by BBC Two’s content. A palette of ‘mood’ animations reflects spirit rather than genre. The iconic curve of the numeral 2 unifies all animations and creates a seamless connection between the trailers, turning ad breaks into idents. To reflect their breadth of content, we collaborated with the best animation talent, nationally and internationally.
